Take A Break Coffee Time


Every Thursday from 9:30 - 11AM Lifelong sponsors a Coffee Time in our lounge for people to chat and meet new friends with others in the community. We're seeking volunteers to bring snacks, a sign-up sheet is located on the bulletin board in the entrance. If you're interested call Lifelong at (607) 273-1511. Donations of refrigerated Cookie Dough are accepted.

AARP Safe Driving Course

Lifelong cosponsors AARP safe driving courses which teach defensive driving techniques and include information on age-related cognitive and physical changes which affect driving and how to adjust driving response to these changes. Participants who complete the class get a discount on their automobile insurance and gain knowledge that increases their driver safety skills. Courses are offered in two, four-hour sessions spanning two Saturdays, and the course is $10 (bring to the first class, payable to AARP).

The spring series of classes at Lifelong will be held on:

Saturday, April 21st & 28th from 9AM - 1PM
Saturday, May 12th & 19th from 9AM - 1PM
Saturday, June 9th & 16th from 9AM - 1PM

Pre-registration is required, call Lifelong at (607) 273-1511 to save your seat.

The 2007 Martin Luther King, Jr., Commemorative Lecture, sponsored by Cornell United Religious Work (CURW), will be delivered by Dr. Dorothy Cotton on Feb. 20th, 4:45 p.m. in Sage Chapel on the Cornell University campus.

Dorothy Cotton, who lives in Ithaca, is an educator, motivational speaker, and was the Education Director for Dr. King's Southern Christian Leadership Conference. She was also the Director of Student Services at Cornell University for nine years.

It is a Snow Day!


Today, ALL Activities at Lifelong will be canceled due to the snow! This includes the free tax clinics and the Heart Walk that was scheduled to take place at the Pyramid Mall. The King Tut Presentation with Luke Colavito has been rescheduled for February 21st at 10:30AM at Lifelong.

Lifelong's weather cancellation policy states that when the Ithaca City School District closes due to inclement weather, all of the Lifelong activities will also be canceled. Tune into News Talk WHCU 870AM for radio announcements.

Kitchen Theatre 48-Hour Playwriting Marathon 2/11/07

This Weekend!
Four regional playwrights, together with a director, actors and a production assistant produce four fully staged ten-minute plays in a 48-hour period, with two public performances at the end. Whew! (Sue Perlgut, our Director of the Senior Theatre Group will be participating!! Get out and support her and other local playwrights!)
