LEAP into Spring...

GIAC's Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast

The Greater Ithaca Activities Center, (GIAC) is holding its
Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Breakfast, Saturday, January 19
from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Beverly J. Martin Elementary School gym.
This year's theme is, "Crisis in our Community" ­ Equity in the
ICSD.

Guest Speaker is Mr. Cal Walker. GIAC participants and local
community members will provide music, poetry and other entertainment.
Awards to be presented include the Tompkins County Human Rights
Commission Art & Poetry contest winners and the Peace Maker Award from
the Community Dispute and Resolution Center.

Costs for breakfast are $3- adults, $10 ­ families (4 or
more), $2 ­ seniors and students. For more information or questions

101 Ways to Retrie—or Not! To Be Broadcast On WSKG TV January 17

Sue Perlgut and Christopher Julian will have their hour-long documentary 101 Ways to Retire–or Not! broadcast on WSKG TV January, 17 at 8 PM as part the Expressions arts show. There will also be an interview with the filmmakers. The hour-long film shot in the Finger lakes region and released in June, features everyday women and men in their fifties through their eighties, who redefine what it means to be "retired" and to be "senior citizens," as they live active and vital lives. Expressions: The Art and Soul of the Southern Tier is a new arts show, on WSKG, featuring the work of artists, musicians, theater groups and related events from around the community. It airs weekly on Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. and is the only locally produced program shot and broadcast in High Definition. It airs on WSKG's local channel as well as the station's HD channels 30.1, 46.1 and 46.2.
