LIBRARY TO HOST SENIOR THEATRE TROUPE

In recognition of Older Americans Month, the Tompkins County Public Library will host a performance by the Senior Theatre Troupe of Lifelong, Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Borg Warner Community Meeting Room.

Based on stories from their own lives, the theatre troupe presents original, theme-based plays. This year’s theme is hair, and each performance will feature stories about hairdos.

The Library performance will also include a short series of improvisational exercises and a reading of “Advice Download”, an original piece created by troupe member Sue Perlgut. In an online survey, Perlgut asked women ages 40 and up to share advice, both good and bad, which they had received from older women. More than 120 women from 15 states and four countries answered the survey. “Advice Download” will feature a synopsis of the answers generated by Perlgut’s survey.

This performance is free and open to an all-ages audience.
